78th Annual Conference of All India Ophthalmological Society

Proud to be Chief Instructor of "The Cataract Armamentarium"  Instruction course (IC) at 78th Annual Conference of All India Ophthalmological Society (AIOS) to be held at Gurugram, 13th - 16th February 2020. 

This course will teach ECCE, MSICS, Phaco, Phaco to SICS conversion, Smart SICS, FLACS & Premium IOLs. Cataract is still 60% cause of blindness in India and with aging population this burden is going to rise and also going to rise is patient's expectations. Many things have changed since last 21 years, since the time "Vision 2020" was launched on 18th February 1999 and lot of thurst was given to training of residents, still lacuna remains in many parts of country. This course is aimed to fill the gaps and equip residents and practitioners with all the techniques in the armamentarium of a modern Cataract & Refractive Surgeon. 

The aim of Cataract surgery has changed from sight restoration to spectacle free emmetropic vision. ECCE, Phaco, SICS came later and became surgery of choice for many, phaco got new technology including premium IOLs & Femto Laser assisted cataract surgery. 

All can be used and customized to individual patient to achieve full vision potential and in majority emmetropic vision.

Legendary Ophthalmologist, Great Teacher, Author of many books and Father of Small Incision Cataract Surgery, Past President & Chairman Academic & Research Committee of AIOS & Former Additional Director General of Health, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India and currently head of department at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Rishikesh Professor Kps Malik is one of the instructors of the course. 

Professor Ruchi Goel of Guru Nanak Eye Centre, Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi, author of many books, editor of many reputed journals and fine surgeon will also be one of the instructors. 

Dr Aniket Narendra Shastri, Consultant Cataract & Refractive Surgery at M.M. JOSHI EYE Institute, Hubli, Karanatka. A prolific FLACS & Premium IOL surgeon will also be one of the instructors.
